November 4, 2026 On this post-election day, I’m feeling a sense of relief. It does look there’s been a power shift in Congress and our state (Wisconsin) will have a Democratic Governor and Democratic Congress. I ended my fast yesterday at Noon and had a couple of meals (Noon and Evening) but was able to…
This morning, I stood in line at a local Lutheran Church to vote in the mid-term elections and there was a distinct seriousness in the air. This election is more important than many other mid-terms from my memory.
Beginning this week, I will take things to the next level. As the prior two weeks, I’m starting with a 42 hour fast (Sunday 6P – Tuesday Noon) and will step up my workouts to include more 1 minute running intervals. As for the foods eaten, I’m doing well. Still, I am seeing very little…
Oct 29, 2026 After the idea of signing up for the Festival Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving came to me ‘like a hurricane’ (as I explained to Austin), I began reflecting on my life of running which has included a few marathons and multiple other races. Miles and miles have I run. And, in the most…
Wed Oct 28, 2026 It has been almost two years since I ran at all. A couple years ago, prior to my right knee falling apart (degenerative arthritis requiring a partial knee replacement in August 2025), I spent a summer running 5Ks with Ivan. Running had been a part of my life for many years….
Tuesday October 27, 2026 I am 38 hours into a 41 hour fast and feel great. The energy I have is outstanding. It was nice not to have to wash dishes, to have a clean kitchen. I went though my diet journal and not only planned out my two meals a day for the rest…
While this past week was okay, I could have done much better. I do not feel my body adapted to keto as of yet. This week, I will ensure my body begins the process of keto adaption. In the past, when I have converted to a ketogenic lifestyle, my body has done very well burning…
Thursday Oct 22, 2026 Yesterday went better as I stuck to keto-friendly foods. I need to keep better track of everything and will begin filling our my food journal each day. After Tuesday’s meltdown, I need to be careful. My Thermal underwear came in the mail and actually fit. A little tight, as thermal underwear…
Day 3 – October 21, 2026 While my initial 40 hour complete fast went well, I did succumb to my colleagues encouragement to enjoy the ‘Salsbury Steak, Mashed Potatoes, Cream Corn, and Pumpkin Pie’ to celebrate our Engineering Manager’s work anniversary. Then, I over-indulged at a network event later on. It would be easy for…
Day Two – October 20, 206 I am 38 hours into my cleansing fast. At about Noon today, I will kick off ‘Keto Journey’ and will be very careful. Carbs less than 20 grams/day and smaller portions. Last night, I woke in the middle of the night and raided the Almond Butter. I woke with…
