Planning is Important
November 4, 2026
On this post-election day, I’m feeling a sense of relief. It does look there’s been a power shift in Congress and our state (Wisconsin) will have a Democratic Governor and Democratic Congress.
I ended my fast yesterday at Noon and had a couple of meals (Noon and Evening) but was able to keep it keto-friendly. Still, I may have eaten more than I should have. This is the reason I take time to plan out every meal (for now) including how many carbs are in each of the items.
Next week, the week of my camping trip up to Northern Wisconsin, I’ll fast (except for mineral waters and electrolytes as I’ll be running and working out) from Sunday at 6P to Wed at Noon (66 hours – coincides with the year of my birth. Hah!)
Like many, I do not have a lot of time to dedicate to pre-planning or being too meticulous. I eat the same handful of foods, occasionally adding something new. My food plans are basic and a working document (so to speak). Often, I scribble something out and replace it with something else. Circumstances change. What I like about planning is that I may determine that I have too many carbs planned for the day and then can make an objective decision on what to remove.
If you are serious about changing your diet, I encourage you to buy a journal for this purpose. They are very inexpensive on Amazon. A dedicated notebook is only $1 at the Dollar Store. It also work.
Here is what mine looks like:
