Keep it simple

Through much trial and error, I found things that made the process of changing my lifestyle habits and gettting healthy simple and even fun.

If you have something to include here, please send it by email to me at:

Food & Fitness Journal

I enjoy using a food diary I found on Amazon called ‘DietMinder’ and have a couple available for sale.  You can find it on Amazon right here.

As an alternative, download this free Excel version of a Food and Exercise Journal that can be customized to your preferences.

Meditation Guide

There has been nothing more important to me than taking time out every day, most times twice a day, to engage in prayer and meditation.  As a former Contemplative Monk, prayer was our work.  And, I teach workshops on meditation directed at both kids and adults; watch for these on our YouTube Channel.

Here is a pdf guide from Joel Evans called “How to Meditate: A Primer for Beginners”

Gymn Membership

My son and I have been so grateful for the financial assistance the YMCA in Oshkosh has provided in making a membership possible.

I use the treadmill, elliptical, and weight room regularly.  My son has even devised upper and lower body workouts for us and I try to keep up.  In Oshkosh, there are two facilities on each side of town.  Both are amazing and well kept.

The YMCA is highly recommended.

Planet Fitness also offers a convenient space for treadmill workouts and weight lifting for about $10/month.

Virtual Workout Sessions

Do you have trouble getting to the gym regularly?  I can definitely relate.  And, living in the snowy and cold Midwest can make outdoor workouts difficult.

I have some options.

Depending on your goals, I am creating a series of workout videos that target a large range of health goals.  They are free with a recommended donation.
